Geneva, November 9 1932. A party of fascist tendency, the Union Nationale set up an assembly to “publicly accuse Messrs. Nicole and Dicker”, two Geneva socialist leaders. When the local Socialist party decided to oppose this provocation, the Geneva Government then had the meeting hall guarded by the police and a group of young draftees, brought along specially from Lausanne. After some incidents, one platoon of inexperienced soldiers fired on the crowd, killing 13 and wounding 65 people.
