The idea for the film came from a local news item reporting that a young drug addict had committed suicide after 9 months in jail awaiting trial. In his cell, Salvatore thinks of his wife, of his son Simon. Left, address unknown is not a film about prison life but about a man in prison, who will die at 25.

Press review

Veuve chooses to show but not tell, demonstrating the compassion and objectivity a filmmaker must have to reach for a deeper reality. Contemporary Cinema Los Angeles 1983 - Dexter Kelly Jacqueline Veuve avoids taking sides in the controversy, but behind her assumed indifference, she describes the cruel reality of the prison world where even the most well-meaning people are prisoners of their own role and convictions. At the antipodes of psychologically inclined and narcissistic movies, the film of Jacqueline Veuve makes you listen to the Voice of the Other. L'Hebdo - Alain Jeannet
